Message from the CEO

It’s a totally clean-burning production process and it doesn’t use any feed stocks that are used for our food and drink.

We live in complex times. Navigating the milieu of problems that confound us remind me of the Greek myth of Sisyphus who pushed a boulder up a hill only to have it roll back upon him as soon as he reached the top. Our challenges seem countless.

As if we weren’t already aware of the risks of petroleum, we witnessed millions of gallons of oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico, fouling our beaches and effectively shutting down thousands of businesses. It has served as a blinding spotlight on our petroleum dependence issue.

One the other hand, waste and by products from our modern lifestyle are at an all time high and not going away anytime soon.
Having one of these problems serve as the solution to the other has obvious genius at it’s roots — and biomass holds just this promise. Unfortunately the inefficiencies of this technology render it a solution that seems only interim at best.

I never was one to sit back and watch while Rome burned…the proverbial sleeves have always been rolled up. The brilliantly conceived notion that one problem could be the very solution to another wouldn’t let go of me so I decided to set the most advanced researchers to the task of elevating this technology to one that was a true solution.

Enter University of California and their team of scientists. For a solid 2 years we strove to resolve the shortcomings of the biomass industry: the fact that biomass must be transported by a petroleum fueled truck to the plant for processing AND it’s end product, syngas is simply burned in the old fashioned way to generate power producing poluting exhaust. This seemed like a super computer with an old mechanical typewriter keyboard.

West Biofuels  is the product of that work and builds the worlds only “laptop” version of a Biofuels plant. Scalable to suit, it is constructed at the source of the biomass and produces a syngas so pure it can literally run an engine or generator  to produce power in the most efficient way.

Our future is a bright as our brightest minds and as far reaching as our drive to take us there. As West Biofuel’s business grows, so does our opportunity to have an even greater impact on our changing world. We invite you to explore our website and read more about how West Biofuels takes that opportunity seriously.
