Plant Operating Trainee
Job Duties: Operates, maintains, and repairs generators, air compressors, motors, pumps, compressors, electrical switch gear, loaders, ash and fuel handling systems, bulldozers, small utility equipment used to provide utilities with power. Maintains fuel in the fuel storage area including the receipt, handling and storage of fuel in a safe and efficient manner. Ensures fuel samples are taken and logs and records respective data. Performs daily and weekly maintenance checks and supports scheduled and unscheduled maintenance shutdowns.

Job Duties: Responsible for supervising the operation of a biomass power system involving a thermal oil heater and generator system. Operates biomass feeding system, gasifier, combustor, thermal oil heater system and turbine generator. Supports the maintenance and repair of the heat exchangers, generators, motors, pumps, valves, dampers, compressors, electrical switch gear, conveyors, ash and fuel handling systems, and other plant associated sensors and controls. Performs daily and weekly maintenance checks and supports scheduled and unscheduled maintenance shutdowns.

Job Duties: Entry level opportunity for individuals interested in learning how to operate and maintain a modern biomass power plant. Under the guidance of experienced operators and supervisors, trainees will learn to safely monitor and operate plant systems, use computerized control systems, assist with maintenance activities, and develop the skills needed to advance into a fully qualified Plant Operator role.
This position is well suited for students or graduates of trade schools, technical programs, or individuals seeking to build a career in industrial operations, power generation, or renewable energy.
